Be entertained and enjoy a few hours of theatre, festivals and numerous events.
Since 2008, the town can finally boast a permanent and extremely worthy performance space, the Toppler Theater. "Small but perfectly formed", the 126-seat open-air theatre in the northern courtyard of the Imperial Town Museum (former convent) soon established itself as a permanent part of the town's cultural life and, located in the heart of the old town, quickly established itself in the hearts of many locals and visitors. Modern, boulevard-style theatre has become a permanent fixture, alongside guest performances from outside the town as well as the Hans Sachs Guild.

Ever since Theodor Schletterer founded the Rothenburg Hans Sachs Guild in 1921, the town's precious medieval heritage has provided the perfect setting for a festival dedicated to this tailor's son and master shoemaker. The Rothenburg Hans Sachs Theatre is dedicated both to music and to the mainly comic theatrical works and their yearly performances offer a lively insight into the Renaissance with plenty of humor and wit.
